First Marlin Of 2020!!!
Ryu-Kin Fishing Charters takes a group of US service members on a deep sea fishing trip out of Okinawa Japan. Conditions were tough but the trip turned out to be a huge success with the Captain and crew landing the first Blue Marlin of 2020!!! Throughout the trip Ryu-Kin Fishing Charters and crew targeted many species including Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, Rainbow Runners, Skip Jack Tuna and Wahoo. Although conditions were not prime the crew toughed it out and had a great day deep sea fishing with Ryu-Kin Fishing Charters in Okinawa Japan!!!
Battling a Monster Marlin
Sometimes we land the big ones in a matter of minutes, but this marlin was on the hook for a long, long time! Definitely an exciting day hooking up on a big fish like this early in the trip. Luckily we had a full boat and many hands to take turns on the reel. Have you ever had a fish like this on the line? Drift Fishing in Okinawa
We call it drift fishing because we position the boat to drift across the buoy while we fish. Drift the bait out in the chum line, and as the fish come in for the chum you’ll hook up. It’s tuna season right now, but when we’re in mahi season you’ll catch plenty of them too. Tuna, skipjack, rainbow runners, we catch all kinds of great fish drift-fishing in deep Okinawan waters.
Jigging in Okinawa
Jigging is great for getting your hook down deep into schools of tuna on our offshore trips. In this video we demonstrate a Japanese jigging technique called “ebbing”. Check out this quick explanation of how jigging works a banana weight and land yourself more fish!
World IGFA Day – Teaching Kid’s to Fish
Inshore fishing charters are a great way to bond with your kids while having them learn a new skill.
We’re all really passionate about passing on the fishing gene to the next generation.
We’re hoping to teach as many kids to fish as we possibly can this June 7th for IGFA Day. The IGFA initiative to teach 100,000 kids to fish is something we’re really passionate about here at Ryu-Kin, and we’d love to include your kids in the event!
